Multistakeholder Forum: Sharing Data on Sources of Air Pollution

  • Nairobi, Nairobi County Kenya (map)

Air pollution in Nairobi is regularly higher than the level considered safe by the World Health Organization and poor air quality is responsible for more than 19,000 premature deaths in Kenya each year. Air pollution also affects urban livability, including impacts on commerce and outsized harm to women and children. The worst air quality is found in informal settlements, areas that house more than 70% of Nairobi’s residents.

The main goal of this forum is to bring together stakeholders to share insights, knowledge and understanding of air pollution sources in the city in order to build a foundation for action and to introduce the stakeholders to the Clean Air Catalyst and set a collaborative approach, through the setting up of the Nairobi air quality working group that will support in the implementation of the project.
