Media Briefing in Jakarta Focuses on Impacts of Air Pollution on Women and Children

By Fadhli Zakiy and Cynthia Maharani, WRI Indonesia, June 15, 2022

In April 2022, the Clean Air Catalyst team in Jakarta held a media fast breaking event at World Resources Institute (WRI) Indonesia office to build and strengthen relationships with members of the media, identifying specific air quality topics they might be interested in reporting on, and could use to increase public awareness on the importance of air quality and the negative impact air pollution has on women and children.

The Catalyst team held the event in a hybrid format, both offline at the WRI Indonesia office and online via Zoom, and featured speakers from WRI Indonesia, Vital Strategies, and Wahana Visi Indonesia. The speakers provided attending journalists with topics that ranged from the basic definition of air pollution, common traits of urban areas that lead to air pollution, source pollutants other than urban areas or transboundary air pollution, and the impact of air pollution on women and children.
