For the first time since 2005, the World Health Organization (WHO) has updated its recommendations for air quality levels based on the most recent evidence on health effects. A consistent, growing body of research suggests that even low levels of air pollution adversely affect health.
Based on this evidence, the WHO set guideline levels and interim benchmarks for countries to aim for while working to eliminate leading sources of pollution, including fossil fuel and other industrial emissions.
In this webinar, you’ll hear a brief overview of the new guidelines from a member of the WHO guideline development group, and an overview of the implications from health and air quality experts from the global Clean Air Catalyst consortium.
The webinar will be helpful for policymakers, practitioners and advocates working to reduce health-damaging air pollution that is so harmful to humans and the planet. A Q&A period from participants is included.
